You arrive in London and you want to see all the major sights – this is the perfect walk for you.
Meet your professional London tour guide at Westminster station. Begin with a historic introduction to London, followed by an iconic selfie in front of Big Ben. You’ll experience the best of London — with Palaces & Pageantry... including the famous Changing of the Guard*.
On this tour, you will see:
Houses of Parliament & Big Ben (top photo stop for many visitors to London)
Westminster Abbey (where the coronations of Kings and Queens happen)
Whitehall (government buildings and Ministry of Defence)
Downing Street (home to the Prime Minister)
Household Guards (the official, ceremonial front door to the palaces)
The Mall (the major thoroughfare leading to the palaces)
St. James’s Palace (the oldest palace in Central London)
Clarence House (home to the Queen Mother 1952-2002)
St. James’s Park (home to the famous pelicans)
Buckingham Palace (London residence of His Majesty King Charles)
Our route takes in all of the above locations while explain their significance and offering some behind-the-scenes stories and facts about the people who live there. The perfect way to kick start your holiday, or a good option for those wanting to see as much as they can in a short space of time. Learn about the six wives of Henry VIII. Discover how to tell if the King is home. Hear about the Grand Old Duke of York. Take photos of the guards as they walk right by you!
Once you complete this tour, you’ll be able to explore London in detail, or even return and visit some of these places at your leisure. Either way, you’ll have a general idea of where you are and where you want to go next! This tour runs on a regular basis or available for private hire.
If booking for private hire, this will be you/your group only, so we go at your pace. It’s the essential and all natural antidote to jetlag! If you would like to do this tour without the guard ceremony, we can arrange this tour to begin at anytime for you and your party.
*Note: The ceremony only takes place on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun for the majority of the year. In summer, the Army will change on a daily basis, this usually happens in July. This tour has been scheduled to include those days. If you wish to book this tour on a non-guard day, you will still be able to see the Horse Guards in position. Also note: during wet weather, guards may choose not to execute the ceremony. Tour will proceed rain or shine, even if the guards decide not to conduct the ceremony.
The tour is fully accessible for wheelchairs, strollers or other mobility devices, however there are a few steps in certain locations. In order to “walk with the guards” a quick pace will need to be observed at one point in the tour. We can arrange a meeting point if you are unable to keep pace, thus you can still enjoy this tour. Suitable for adults and children of all ages. Available for private hire upon request. Please book your space in advance, as walk up spaces are not be available.
